The Climate Justice Working Group’s Biennial Calendar for 2025-2026 addresses the urgent issue of Climate Migration & Displacement. This year’s edition is dedicated to the memory of Rev. Siosifa Pole, the late chair of the Climate Justice Working Group, whose commitment to justice continues to guide our work.
Why Focus on Climate Displacement?
As climate change reshapes our world, communities—particularly in the Pacific and Aotearoa New Zealand—are being displaced by rising seas, extreme weather, and environmental degradation. The 2025 Climate Justice Calendar explores the intersection of migration, identity, justice, and faith, offering both theological reflections and practical actions for responding to these challenges.

Each month of the calendar focuses on an aspect of climate displacement:

- Colonialism and Māori Displacement: Insights into how settler colonialism has affected Aotearoa.

The calendar provides theological perspectives on each issue and suggests practical actions for individuals and communities to take.
